Friday Oct 23, 2020
Friday Oct 23, 2020
In 1993 we were introduced to the Nightmare Before Christmas, a stop-motion animated musical dreamed up by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick. It was released on VHS almost a year later, on DVD in 1997, and since then has moved from a 'cult classic' to a cultural phenomenon that is synonymous with not one, but two major holidays in many people's minds. Oh, and did we mention it was a real pain the in backside to make? We talk all about the movie in this week's podcast.

Sunday Oct 11, 2020
Sunday Oct 11, 2020
We saw a post on Facebook where someone photoshopped children's board games reimagined as horror movies. (Including Hungry Hungry Hippos, Chutes and Ladders, and Candyland.) We decided to talk about what the plots of those movies could be and talk about what other board games might make legitimately good horror movies. What ones come to your mind?

Today we get excited for what might happen in the future, but in the past the present used to be the future. So now, we're stuck debating if this is the future our favorite sci-fi movies envisioned for us? (And somehow get stuck on the concept of water less bidets...)
What current "futuristic" ideas from fiction do you think are going to become reality?

Why Bill and Ted Face the Music 'Worked' - Get Geekish Podcast#128
Friday Sep 04, 2020
Friday Sep 04, 2020
Bill and Ted Face The Music was a movie 30 years in the making. It's not going to win an Academy Award, it's not going to go down as a ground-breaking cinematic masterpiece...but that not what it was trying to be. It's a goofy-4, good-hearted comedy, with a message about people coming together and a hefty splash of nostalgia. In our minds this movies totally 'worked' and we discuss why in this week's podcast.
